Job Description: Network Integration Engineer
Position Overview:
The Network Integration Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure solutions. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure effective integration of network components and adherence to industry best practices. The Network Integration Engineer must possess strong technical expertise in network engineering, along with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and implement network integration solutions based on business requirements and industry standards.
2. Collaborate with network architects, system administrators, and other stakeholders to develop network designs and deployment plans.
3. Configure and install network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
4. Ensure seamless integration of network components, including servers, storage systems, and applications.
5. Conduct network performance analysis and troubleshooting to resolve issues and optimize network efficiency.
6. Implement network security measures to protect against unauthorized access and ensure compliance with company policies.
7. Collaborate with vendors and service providers to evaluate and select networking products and solutions.
8. Participate in the evaluation and testing of new technologies to enhance network performance and capabilities.
9. Create and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, procedures, and configurations.
10. Provide technical guidance and support to junior network engineers and other team members.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering or related roles.
3. Strong knowledge of network protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN, MPLS, and routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP).
4. Proficiency in network hardware and software configuration, including Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, or similar network equipment.
5. Experience with network monitoring and management tools, such as SolarWinds, Wireshark, or Nagios.
6. Familiarity with security technologies and best practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access control lists.
7. Solid understanding of network virtualization and software-defined networking (SDN) concepts.
8. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
9. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
10. Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or equivalent are preferred.
